LOL, that is absolutely great!

V8 for me!

I prefer the V8, because I had a 94 V6 and it was a dog. Don't get me wrong it was a great car, but just didn't have the power I was looking for. I love the torque, sound, and the respect that comes with owning a V8 Mustang :D

If you take insurance out of the question, I can't see any reasons why i would want a v6 over a v8. Hell my v6 doesn't even get better gas mileage....i get like 13-17. Thats not good gas mileage for a 6 :bang: . Well then again, with all the mods i have done to make my car almost as fast as a gt, i kinda lost the economy aspect of my car.

Whatever car makes you happy, go for it. I didn't vote because i think all of those can be great. I like my six banger because it suits me and my needs. Of course i would like a GT, i certainly would love a nice Cobra. But, I am not greedy. As it has been mentioned before, every person has their opinions on what an engines positives and negatives are. Therefore, I believe the title of this thread should have been different. Instead of stating that V8's are better than V6's, it should have been called "Why do you love your Stang?", as I am pretty sure everyone loves their car the most as it is their own car.

I've had a 3.0 V6 91 Ranger, it was ok, lacked torque for pulling. Then I got my coupe, it was a 4cyl, got good gas mileage (better than the Ranger), drove it like that for 3 years and then dropped in a 5.0. Wow, I didn’t know what I was missing... all that torque =o) Turns out that my 5.0 engine got just as good gas mileage as my 4cyl until I started modding it.

My vote is for the V8, love the sound and the power and the aftermarket choices available. I know there wouldn’t be Mustangs without the 6 or 4s and you can mod them to be just as fast but you have less choices and parts are more expensive.

I looked into making my 4 into a turbo 2.3 and it was cheaper for me to get a wrecked GT (paid $600 and got the car and anything in it) and swap parts than get either a custom turbo or a 2.3T engine and swap it.

Oh, I voted V8, but I have owned all three in a Mustang, the V8 is my fav, but they all had equal love as a Mustang.

 :bs: ......ANYWAY.......I voted for the V6 because of the price difference in insurance, gas, and the car itself. IMO, after owning a 01 GT, it's not worth the extra $7k for the extra 70 HP or the extra $200 a month for insurance on it. The V6 is pretty darn quick stock, and modded, it can be an even bigger beast than the V8. I love sleepers, and I have lots more respect for someone who can buy a pretty decent car and turn it into a monster than for someone who had the money to just go buy a fast car. I guess you can't post a thread and not have people flame one another, seeing as how about half of the posts that have already been made basically flame the six directly or indirectly. But at any rate, I voted six and there's my reasons why. :flag:

How ya figure that? I bought a running '84 Turbo Coupe for $150 last summer to pull the engine and transmission from, then I stripped out the interior and sold off all that stuff for over $200 and somebody hauled off the shell of the car for free

Anyway, I like my 2.3 Turbo and I love the sound of the turbo spooling up, not many people are used to hearing that :) I also love the 25 mpg the car gets.

With that being said, I've always been a V8 fan and ONE OF THESE DAYS, I'm gonna get a Fox 5.0 (maybe a SN95 5.0) and thoroughly enjoy it, and the wonderful sound it produces. I've also never really been a fan of V6's. I dunno why...maybe it's the fact that I have yet to hear a V6 that sounded good at anything above idle.

$200 a month, dam, I only pay $47 full coverage, than again Im married and 26.

At 20 and single with a clean record, I paid $475 a month on the GT. Now, at 23 and still single, still with a clean record, I pay $215 a month for the six...full coverage on both of course b/c they were financed. :( Insurance sucks. :notnice:

There wernt any available 2.3Ts in my area and the donor car was there at the right time. I got the computer, tranny, engine, break lines, fuel lines, exhaust and the 8.8 rear end and the guy I got it from lived 4 houses down from me. and I sold the rest off too:shrug:

I dont think a V6 would beat a V8 in autocross.

If my four banger can do it, I'm sure a V6 could :nice:

Now will someone tell me what a 10 foot burn out proves besides the fact you can aford tires? I've seen both four bangers and V6s stock do that. Hell I saw a V6 bust a rear end up doing worse than that at the track last week end. Look my only problem with a V8 is the fact that they are to SLOW for what you payed for them. Come on if I spend 10-40k on a car it better run 12's because I can do it for less than 7K. Just think how much you V8 guys have spent on a 15 - 14 second car alone...I spent 3500.00 on my 15's car. Now with my current mods people run 13's and that so fair is costing me 1200.00 more. Thats a 13's car for around 4700.00 bux which is not bad conedering most GTs new cost more and run slower than 13's. Now you got the Cobra's and Cobra R crowd who I'm dieing to see how much money they spent just to beat a little ole 30 year technolgy four banger ;)

There's always this talk of these heavily modded GT killing 6's.....I've never seen a single one of them. Not on the street, or at the track. All I see is cold air intakes ( :bs: ) and two tailpipes.

Why dump all that money into a 6 when a GT with gears and traction will get you past mid 13's?

 This is pretty funny but not as funny as asking a V8 guy whats he's done to his motor and he coughs up that its a 306 crap :rlaugh: They act like a 306 is a major stroked out kit that we're lucky to even see one when reality is its a bored .030 302 :p

I saw a V6 last weekend kill a few GTs ;) To bad they busted there rear end out doing stupid burn outs :nonono: The reason you don't see it that much is because not a lot of people buy V6 to do that to them. Most people buying a V6 is because they want a sports car but don't want to spend a ton for it or on the insurance. Besides why pay 5k or more just for 70hp when you could do the same in a V6 but cheaper insurance

Exactly! And thats why I own a Brand New '04 V6. Love that new car smell.... :D

Don't forget the 80+lbs of torque. :D

Personally, I would buy something like an RSX or (gasp!) an SRT-4 before a V6 Mustang. Most guys here will have to admit, power is what makes a Mustang. Nobody in their right mind is buying one for world class handling or craftsmanship. Take away the power and what do you have left?

what lack of power? lets talk about how the v8 mustang lacks the power that most other v8's on the market have, just for kicks lets look at the catillac, whats that? almost 100 more hp? yeah thats right... we're all in the same bucket here preformance for the poor guy.... cept cobra owners

For sheer practicality the V6 is better ie. gas mileage, insurance, but for more excitement I think the V8 is better ie power, performance and don't forget the intangible sound.

This gets my vote for the dumbest thread ever.....What kind of question is that anyways???

This is like asking the guys on here if they prefer a nice smooth skinned hot woman or a hairy guy next to them in bed.....

What a bunch of :bs: I can't believe I am even wasting my time reading this thread.
