Ok, ive been battling a high idle for quite some time now. Ive gone over everthing, dumped the codes, and nothing. I now think it has a vaccum leak, because once i shut the car off, i lose the power brakes instantly. Doesn't it usually hold enough vaccum for one good push? Or is that just newer cars? and is there any common vaccum lines that break? or is it all of them, considering its 15 years old =/. And whats everyone recommend for a replacement heater core, heat is starting to get a little stinky, and with 113k on the original, im not surprised :)

I would get some carb cleaner and spray around all the hoes coming into and out of your intake manifold. If the idle jumps or hesitates you have a leak there.

How high is your idle? Is it surging?
