ok i put a whole bunch of new mods on, the ford cobra electric conversion kit which transforms a 5.0 into a 93 cobra (cobra computer/24# injectors/70mm mass air) I also just put on the GT-40 upper and lower manifold with a 1 inch phonelic spacer and added the FMS 190 lph fuel pump. Now, my problem is, after approx 5 mins of warmup my engine makes this really REALLY loud high pitch noise, not exactly like a whistle, but really high pitched. I dont know what it is. I have a vacuum guage and it reads pretty normal so i didnt think i had a vacuum leak. BUT, my car also overheats within about 30 mins of idle or less if i drive it. Which leads me to believe that its running lean. I thought maybe because i upgraded the injectors and the fuel pump, but didnt adjust the regulator that maybe that was the cause of the noise and the leanness, due to not enough fuel flow. Havent tried anything yet, but i tried to rule out a vacuum leak because it doesnt make the noise until the car is beginning to get warm. But thats just me, let me know what u guys think or if i should just take it to a shop and be a check writing idiot. :bang: Thanks

don't guess it matters, but I believe the A9L computer found in 90-92 stangs actually were better than the cobra computer...more aggressive fuel curve I believe. Either way, sorry about your problem, not sure what to tell you...this'll bump you though

what is your vacuum reading? is it consistent at say, idle, throughout the temps? you could have a leak between components, so it seals better when warm (expansion), but not so when cold. otherwise start chasing vac lines. normal motor should have 15-20" of vac at idle.

i dont know what to tell you about fuel pressure. i dont know what you all do; i am from the days of when CO meters were used. i would certainly think you could tinker with the FPA if you think you are lean. write down what you do, and since you have not set it (unless i missed that), you arent gonna hurt anything. richen it up and see.
good luck and bump.

Do your headers glow red? I know when I put my phenolic spacer on with a vacuum leak the engine won't run accept at WOT above 2000k. You didn't really add any parts that are going to increase the engines breathing a huge amount. I would double check all your parts and make sure you installed everything right... Double check your injectors too. If I had blindly point a finger at your problem, I would say your injectors might be jacked, that could explain an overheating problem and possibly the noise. Did you buy them used? I would start there, just my .02 cents... good luck..
