So I've had the smog pump routed around with the belt for quite a while now, but was looking below my cai and saw that the vacuum line from one of the check valves to the cats was cut off. Well that was obvious because I have no cats, but i was wondering if i could get rid of all that damn space-hogging piping, including the air diverter valve, teh other check valve and the air bypass valve and just plug the holes behind the valve covers with the 1/2 piping screw somebody mentioned in a previous forum. I don't want to waste anyone's time, but thought since i couldn't find the aird, and airb valves mentioned, i wouldn't want to mess things up.

Thanx guys

The check valve is to save the AIR pump in the event of a backfire (when all the plumbing is hooked up).

If you dont plan on running the AIR pump again in the future, I suppose you could ditch all that stuff. You would be far from the first person to do so.
