I’m new to this forum and to working on my car myself, so please forgive me if posting in the wrong place and for my lack of knowledge. I recently replaced the heater core in my 96 GT 4.6L mustang. After putting the dashboard back in and getting everything hooked up I noticed a vacuum line going to space. I believe it’s the intake from engine. Does this go to the empty connection on the (what I think is the), EVAP purge valve pictured? I didn’t remove it so I’m unsure and afraid to do anything to hurt my car. The check engine light is on, so not driving it until I can figure out how to fix. Thank you for your help and patience with me.

If it reaches appears to be the appropriate size, plug it in and start the car; clear the codes and see if it comes back.

Additionally, you said you have the check-engine light? What is the code(s) currently stored in the ECU?
