I have a quick question about vaccum a car produces. I have a vortech supercharger that puts out around 6psi but only 9psi of vacuum. I have seen car the same year as mine (98) and early 96 or so. All of them who have a supercharger produce 15 or psi of vacuum. Am i losing power? May i have a leak? Anyone with information or soultion to my question educate me because this is a gray area for me.

Thanks

What else besides the blower do you have hooked up? Am i losing power or is that not a factor?

I'm down around 20psi vacuum at idle too. I don't think having a supercharger should affect this number.

It sounds like a vacuum leak. Did you just install the gauge or has it always been like that?

sorry but superchargers only make boost lol, your funny,,
but yes you have a leak,or bad gauge
vacuum is sucking going on by your motor needing air,,boost means more air is beening forced in,,your supercharger has nothing to do with the prob

Yes, i know what a superchargers purpose is. I appricate your input but i am not an idiot. For your information two comma dont end a sentence a period does.

The guage was installed by my local speed shop about 6 months ago. It always showed 9 psi. I will check out the hoses. Thanks for your help.
