Valve Adjustment and Fuel Pump?

I read somewhere that I could do a valve adjustment by cutting out the top of my used valve covers and while the car is running I can tighten my rocker arms until I hear no more chatter. Can anyone confirm this?

Next question I did afr165 61cc, Andersonford N41 cam, and edelbrock intake with 24lb injectors. I want to get my car dyno and tuned. Am I for sure going need a new fuel pump? I'd like to know and do it before I even set up an appointment lol.

i dont think that is a very accurate way of adjusting the rockers and i wouldnt recomend it. try searching the correcet way to adjust them. and i think the stock pump should be fine.

The method mentioned works great for stud mounted rockers. Stud mounted rockers are found on early Ford Winsor engines - 221, 260, and others, as well as some aftermarket aluminum heads heads.

Stock heads that haven't been modified use pedestal mount rockers. Pedestal mount rockers are adjusted by placing or removing shims from under the rocker pedestal mounts.

That is a great way to get stud mount rockers as quiet as they possibly can be. You have to be careful, though to know when to stop tightening.....

Yea I have AFR 165 which are stud mount. And I want the rockers as quiet as posible lol. Does anyone have some good tips?

And the stock fuel pump is still good for my set up?

IMHO you may be running the stock fuel pump pretty hard especially after you get the dyno tune. If you upgrade the fuel pump, go ahead and get the 255lphr version. No point in dropping the tank twice if you don't have to.
