What is the point of a manual valve body? I thought its perfectly fine to shift from 1-2-drive on the 4R70W. Can someone explain exactly what the manual valve body does, the risks and benifits, and what it does to the tranny life? Is it suitable for a daily driver? Thanks

It will give you very firm and precise shifts. The result is improved 1/4 mile ET's. It will also allow you to not rely on the computer to control shifts, which can become a problem in high HP cars. My car is a daily driver, but also a drag car. I like the manual valve body, but some people may prefer to keep the automatic shifting. You might consider a PA street/strip valve body that has both features.
