valve body cleaning on a AOD?

can the valve body be removed from an AOD and cleaned with out messing it up? mines not wanting to shift from 2nd to 3rd except under high rpms. after i finaly get it to shift to 3rd it will do ok.

I cleaned mine.I pulled mine and removed one valve at a time and cleaned until everything was surgically clean.You really need to be in a very clean area.Mine worked a lot better afterwards.i was having shifting problems as well.
