That's a new one on me, usually it's header bolts backing out. I suppose you could pick up some lockwashers?

I've had good luck using spreader bars.

Here's my most recent purchase: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-G3435&N=700+0&autoview=sku

Left is a regular or typical lock washer
Center is a stainless steel lock washer I use on header bolts
Right is what I use on my VC bolts

When I moved from oem VC's to Fox VC's my oem bolts were too short
because the Fox VC's cast Aluminum is thicker than the oem stamped
steel VC's.

I got bolts a bit longer in length and I selected cheap bolts as you are
not doing anything but just crushing the VC gasket to seal it anyway.

I used those above lock washers with the longer bolts and all has been
good to go from the time I put the combo together in late 2002.

just put a lock washer on the bolt use some red lock tite and torque to spec. you should be good after that, to be safe check it a week later and hopefully problem solved.

Thread Locker should pose no problem for OEM iron heads.

I'd take a pass on using it with the softer threads of Aluminum heads myself.

I've been using these gaskets from Earl's and they work great.
