I have the 1.7 roller rockers and it seems like they are making contact somewhere in the stock valve covers. They are pretty noisy. I believe the previous owner beat out the baffles and grinded them down where they may hit, but I am not sure.
Do any of you guys no if the cobra valve covers are slightly higher or know of a nice valve cover that will clear the rockers without being to high.
Thanks

What brand of rockers are they? Mine clear the stock VCs just fine, but I did have to remove the oil baffle. Might wanna pull them off just to make sure that he did get rid of the baffle, plus you could find out what brand they are.

I'll have to pull the covers to find out. I am not looking forward to pulling the covers, because it looks like a little more pain in the a$$ than a standard carbureted smallblock. By the looks of it, it looks like I might need to pull the upper intake and some other stuff just to get the valve covers off. Have any of you guys got them off without taking off the upper intake?

Some say they have pulled VCs w/o taking off the upper intake, but its only 6 bolts for the upper, just pull it and lift it up(you don't even necesarily have to unplug everything) Just have a buddy hold it up whille you unbolt the VCs. GOod luck(and you don't even have to replace the intake from upper to lower)

I have stock VC's and run the motorsport 1.72 RR's with no problems. I removed the stock baffel with two screws or whatever it was; that's it.

IMO the rocker arm ratio doesnt create clearence problems. i think most of the problems people have are the BRAND, some brand like scorpion are fat meaty rockers and will rub stock valve covers, my is using a set and it hit in a bunch of places.

i have FRPP 1.7 and they are lower profile and hit nothing, i did remove the baffle because i didnt want to put everything back together and have it hit and then remove it all again.

I also heard the 1.7 Roller rockers can be noisy, period. I am going to still pull the covers off this week when i get time and make sure they are not hitting anything.
Thanks for the advice!
