I've got a 1970 Cleveland 4v I'm replacing the valve stem seals on. Autoparts store gave me different part number for intake versus the exhaust. Shop manual on Cleveland calls for one size 6571. In the manual on 390 and 428 it call for different sizes but not 351 c.

Anyone swap them out on cleveland and remember if different sizes or better yet have a part number?

Both intake and exhaust valves are 11/32 stems. Never heard of two sizes on a cleveland. You might look at installing some of the newer after market seals instead of stock replacements. Should last much longer. Most of these need an installation tool to keep from tearing them up. If the heads are high milage with out new guides it won't matter much what type you use. Part numbers will depend on what company you buy from.

I would highly recomend putting in the new teflon white seals instead of the old black rubber umbrellas.

On the clevo's I've done, the seals all came in a bag with the gasket set and were all the same.

Depending on the direction of your build, now is the time to put in screw in studs for roller rockers, and the good seals - I beleive the guides will have to be machined for the new style seals.

I would differ to the network54 group, those guys are walking bibles for the clevo.
