Yes, Its true. and also the saddest thing in the history of ever.

Last night I drove down to San Jose (I live in SF) to visit a friend of mine and we went Mini-golfing. As I finished my round and went inside to play a few arcade games an announcement came over the loudspeaker saying "will the owner of an 05 black mustang GT please come to the golf window"
I start cracking up thinking i parked illegally or something of the sort and when i get to the desk the manager informs me that my "mustang has been vandalized and an eye-witness has already called the cops"

At a full sprint i run to the parking lot to find my baby with its passenger window smashed out, the passenger door dented, and the 3 week-old Saleen hood with a giant scratch in it. (I later figured out that the person used a crowbar, took the teeth of it, dug them into the hood and dragged them across)

The cops say they won't show up to file a police report b/c its not an occuring crime??? So as i'm vaccuming out the interior full of glass and calculating the damages in my head, the suspected vehicle (a black VW cabrio) drives by with 5 teens yelling "F**K YOU!!!" out the window.

And not being able to catch their plate, i jump in my car and take off after them. Unfortunately, 20 ft down the road was a 4-way stop and i guess i picked the wrong way to turn b/c i didn't find them.

I pulled into a safeway parking lot 5 min later and saw the exact car empty in the lot and called the cops.
5 min later a cop shows up while a Toyota RAV4 pulls in packed full of kids at the same time...In the RAV4 the kids have a bullhorn and are yelling "yea we got you good *****er!"
The cop tears after them and unfortunately had no proof of anything so he couldnt' really do anything.
However, i did get my police report.
This morning i went to the auto body place and found that it would be a sweet $2200 for my insurance....except when i phoned state farm, i found i was only covered for collisions, not anything else, including comprehensive claims. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL 24 HOURS!!!

And all this happened after a woman in the car wash earlier in the day left her car in drive in the tunnel and hit me...

sorry for the long thread.

I really feel for you. I hate stupid bull**** like that. Sorry that had to happen. Forty bucks says they were jealous though. Driving a RAV4 and a VW? Yeah wish they had a stang. One day they'll get theirs. Maybe they rolled driving home and died. Lets cross our fingers and watch the news.

Stupid punk ass bitches.

Sorry about the car. The only bad thing about having one (or getting one in my case) is other people who want one or dont want anyone to have one, or just some crack heads with some cheap alcohol.

Good thing where I live there is no one, and i mean no one. I live in the middle of nowhere and such a small state and town, and there aren't any of those kinds of kids unless I go to the city which I never do and if we do i'll take my friends 02 V6 stang. Even in the city here though I think people would still be like "hey cool car" and look at it and help beat the ass of anyone who messes with it

Well, sorry. Start a fundraiser to help pay for damages

When you saw their car in the DESERTED lot, WHY DID YOU CALL THE COPS!? My god, you had a PERFECT opportunity to bash their hood/windshield in. ****, I would had dented every body panel, slashed their tires, and knocked out every window.

But that's me.

believe me, i wanted to more than anything...but i was doing my best to be mature and go about it the right way. (my mommy would be proud) However, there was an upside to it...as i was "chasing" the car i really learned just how freakin' quick the GT is. It was the first time on the street i have really gotten on the throttle and the thing moves!

And everything has to be fixed by next friday b/c i move to san diego then... the auto body shop tells me they can get it done though, just bad timing.

Once you get that Saleen SuperCharger, the Mustang GODS will grant you an extra 4lbs. of un-explainable boost.. Take it as a gift for your humanity.. I must admit, your alot bigger man than I.. I would have waited next to the car, and body parts would have been all over the parking lot..

This is not a good thing though.. I shouldnt have handled it that way.. Its just a car..

So the fact that you have kept your sanity, says alot about you man.. Hang tough!!

Man that really sucks, it's lame how low people will go due to jealousy
They see a nice car so they decide they need to mess it all up

Well at least you went about it the right way, cause what goes around comes around and I'm sure they will get theirs one day

What about searching the damn vehicle to find the crowbar or something that scratched the paint to find paint in the teeth of the crowbar? How about searching the vehicle for that probable cause to find something else or at least for one of those punks to start sweating getting them to confess. What is wrong with those cops? Do they not want to do there job? Seems like they dont want to fuss with that but they will sure be there to give you a speeding ticket for that thing. Sorry about your luck dude!

I'm with you man, WTF?
I guess it was not a high revenue situation. I use to be a big law enforcement supporter, not anymore. Where's the protection, where's the service? Oh, yeah it's just a car right.

I also think the police could have done more. You could take them to court. You also can get some names if you have the license plate number. Also, you can certainly call their mommies and daddies and let them know what their brats have been up to. Your insurance company may also want to pursue collecting from them.
There are many ways you can make their little lives even more miserable than they must already be other than bashing in their heads. Though that is an option also.

Wait a second, am I the only one that realizes you should have their license plate information and can go from there? If nothing more than to confront them on the issue and maybe submit their information to every low life identity thief there is.

In any case, sorry about the ride dude. It sucks that there are people in this world that low enough to randomly damage other people's property just for the hell of it... Just wish it happened in Texas on your property where you would have been within your right to shoot their a@@...

That's terrible, an "eye for an eye" would be justified in this situation just prior to leaving for Sandog. How does your State Farm coverage read? I would assume your car is financed, and your lien holder would require full coverage including comprehensive. I have had to use comprehensive with SF many times, now I carry 0 deductable comp just in case something like that happens. I had someone beat the bloody hell out of a truck once and had to pay the 500 deductable, but it was covered. I forgot I did not have comprehensive on my son's truck and it caught fire and burnt to the ground in the driveway, that was not covered. I'm a firm believer in comp insurance from experience.
