Vent to atmosphere 2018 ecoboost

I have a new 2018 eco. I’m the first owner. The car makes a loud popping noise when I accelerate too fast. I think it’s the turbo. In my research I found this vent to atmosphere mod. What exactly will this do? Also has anyone experienced this issue?

Could it just the the swooshing sound from the re-circulation valve? I have a '16 Ecoboost. It does not make any harsh loud popping noises. Maybe go test drive another new car and compare the sounds it makes.
