So convert it to mass air. Like everyone else. It's not hard and it's not expensive.

My SD 88GT ran damned good with a GT40 intake and an F cam. Not so much a PITA to find a good combo as it is to idle and drive.

GT40s or 40Ps, stock cam, good intake and all the bolt ons and there should be NO excuse to not run strong.

combo

Where are you at? What is your current issue and what have you tried?

FYI, switching back to the OEM airbox setup will help a little with off idle hesitation if you have not added fuel.

Why with the waiting on MAF then if you dont like the SD?

I know guys, SD is just fine with the right setup and great with a stand alone computer but for MIke wanting to mix and match parts and a little easier to tune with more options it seems like the upgrade should be a no brainer for him

My GT was my DD (only car i owned at the time)..i guess its all in what you are willing to tolerate.

I also agree with 25th, throw some 1.7 rockers on a stock cam (maybe even retard it a few degrees to raise the rpm potential), so GT40 or P heads, cobraGT40 type intake, bolt ons, gears, should run pretty good and have good street manners.

i think i got my setup. TMoss approved

its gonna be ported w/ valve job, GT40p heads (new springs) with longtubes going to 10 series flows dumped out the back, ported explorer intake, 65 mm TB, 1.7 RR and a crower 15511 cam.

only question, if i shave my heads will it clear for 1.7's and that cam???

If you think a speed density EFI setup sucks, try driving a Fox with a CFI setup sometime. I can't wait to rip that crap off my car...

I've driven it a few times for short drives - enough to know that even Stinky has more balls than this thing. Hopefully, that condition won't last forever, though...

so do you just throw the pushrods in there and lay the heads on top, or do you snug the head bolts up, or do you actually go full tight before turning the engine?
