Vert Issues

Hey all vert guys out there have a question for ya......

Just bought my 00 GT vert this summer and everything was working fine with the top till the end of the summer I started hearing a rattle from the back right where all of the vert top linkage is on the one side. Everytime I hear a bump I hear something rattling back there, also once in a while putting the top back up that one side would jump and fall a little then continue to move back up.

Does anyone know of any common failures with the linkage of the tops on these cars. This is the first vert I have owned so Im really not familiar with it and I have no gotten a chance to pull the rear cover off to take a look cause its to cold out. Any direction would be appreciated.

Convertible tops tend to rattle and squeak, try having someone drive you around while you sit in the back seat. As the car gets older the rattles will most likely get too numerous to correct but you may be able to find this one.

Yea I was going to try that when I get some spare time, hopfully its just something that came loose and nothing horribly wrong. I just wanted to see if they had any common failures.

Welcome to the vert world

I would check out the Hydrolic lifter for loose screw and leaking.

I just replaced mine a few months back as it was leaking and the top would have trouble lifting on one side and then dropping going the other way.
