Hey guys, I have been having issues with my 99 Cobra. Basically, whenever it rains I get a lil fish tank built up behind the rear seats where the top goes. So who here has replaced their tops and how much did it cost you? Or if you've replaced the top yourself how much are parts and how easy is it? How long did it take you?

Thanks

I used to get the same problem even after the top was replaced. However, the car came with the new top when I purchased it. It was a nicer looking cloth as opposed to the nylon-looking stock crap.

I believe it cost him close to a grand.

2003 GT vert. Replaced rear wind screen (only). Leaked at bend near the corner of the rear glass. Paid someone to do it. Don't remember how much (I think it was $400 total).

I'm pretty sure that's where mine was leaking from.

Most likely your rear window assembly needs replaced, it is separate from the top and costs about $375 professionally installed. However, a lot of people use products designed for repairing tents to just cheaply fix the actual leaks. The actual leak is usually found in the elastic material adjacent to the bottom sides of the rear window and can be accessed when the top is in the service position (half way up).

I had a bad leak from the window as well. Used the opportunity to get a canvas top. ~$1,200 professionally installed with a new window. This was close to 5 years ago though.

The thing is I have a couple of small cuts in the top itself. I was hoping that I could just replace the outer-most part of the top.

If it is leaking it is for sure coming from the rear window. I replaced the rear curtain, real PITA for sure and the main part of the top has to be removed to access it. No leaks yet going on a few months now. 5.0 Resto sells everything you need if you wanted to buy the whole nine yards and have it installed to save money.
