vert sound systems

this is for verts and verts only. everyone else can sod off
I have replaced the tweeters in the dash, and the door and rear panel speakers with new pioneer three ways. I still cant stand the sound of my radio. it's better than it was, but it still sounds empty(especially with the top down). I need some decent bass to really bring it out.I am not looking to make the bolts rattle out of the car or to share my tunes with every other car in the parking lot, but just enough that i can hear it thump. I know Mansonozz has a decent set up, who else has a system in their vert?? what's a good set up to run?

My setup is all just show. All it is is an amp powering one 12" sub. That is really overboard for what I need, I have to turn the bass way down and it's still crazy. Even w/the top down.

think a 10" with a 4-500 watt sub would be enough?

Clay, I have done 1000s of stereos over the years and in Maui we did alot of verts. Verts are hard to do. Ive done systems that run a single sub when the tops up and turn on two more with the top down.
Reall though the best thing you can get is gonna be from ebay cause I dont think they are made anymore. Its called Aura bass shakers. Two transducers that will each mount under the front seats directly to the freme and a small digital amp. It turns the cars chasis into a sub. It basically adds impact to music and it for 80hz and down. They work really well and were $300 new so IDK what a used set will run.
Or you can do a 10" sub with a mono block digital amp (less power draw). Coustic makes a great little 200watt mono block with remote level gain so you can turn up the sub easily when the top is down. Also you can get good bass out of the doors if you dynamat them and use a Boston Acoustics or JL audio component system. But eveb just dynomating the doors will really help. Hope it helps

I like the idea of dynomatting the doors. do you think there is enough room under the rear seat to mount a couple of subs? like one on each side?
I have to keep the back seat b/c that's where the kids go.

The only thing that will fit under the seats are Aura Bass Shakers, and not the rear. Any sub means giving up space, it just where you are willing to sacrifice it. If under the seat is the only place then Aura is the only thing.

you would not believe the amount of chics that are all over that car when I take it to the beach. call it gay, I dont give a ****. the more I do to it, the more attention it has been getting and trust me, it's still a steaming pile.
