Very Strong Fuel Smell In Engine Oil.

Ok I have a '04 GT with 434 Miles, to date It has been in the dealer twice for Warrenty Repairs. I just got it back tonight and had a very strong burning smell from under the hood, along with some steam, coming from the Radiator(This was in my 5 mile drive back from the dealer). The coolant temp gagues seemed fine. I was just messing around checking somethings out and pulled my Oil Fill cap. I caught a wiff of it and it had a VERY STRONG fuel smell, so I pulled the dipstick, and same thing I think my oil is contaminated with fuel. Is the problem what I fear a blown piston ring, because thats what Im thinkin it is.

take it back , tell them you want a new engine or new car and you wont settle for less

And to be perfectly honest, I remember on my friends '94 GT(Stock) with a 5.0, I could do the 1-2 shift and it would snap my neck. On this car I cant even get the tires to chirp with a hard 1-2. This engine never seemed *that* Powerful

well it's still getting settled too, it will open up a little more with some miles on it. but not being able to bark the tires on the 1-2 shift isn't normal. the first time i drove mine i barked em on the 2-3 shift, i was like huh, couldn't do that until the 4.10's in the 98
one more thing to consider is that the 5.0's are pushrod engines & had a completely different power curve than our cars, they are big on tq so it will "feel" like it was pulling hard in the lower gears

Yea Im just worried about that they are gonna tell me its normal, and I am going to have to fight an uphill battle to get it fixed. I know something isnt quite right with this car

Well just checked one more thing, my engine oil color to try to determine if Im getting blowby, sure as **** Darkish Brown with a hint of black on a 400 mile engine.

its a brand new car man. If ANYTHING makes you think something is wrong, which it soudns like something is def wrong, demand a new car. It sounds like a lemon. I hope you get this resolved and youre not stuck with half assed work by the dealer in an attempt to fool you into thinking everythings ok.

i'd start checking into VA's lemon laws, because they vary from state to state. here in WV if it has gone back for warranty work three times within the period of one year, you can enact the lemon law. so assuming the law is roughly the same, you "could" interpret the belt problem as a engine problem & you definately know this is going to be a engine problem. so one more problem engine related & you could be looking at a new car
sorry your having such a crap time with this car (prolly has a friday build day ) i hope it gets better for you.

One more quick question, I ran it for a bit this morning and checked the oil, now in addition to the fuel smell, the oil on the filler cap is milky white, is this water in the oil now also? It just keeps getting worse and worse.

someone correct me if i'm wrong here, but that sounds like a blown head gasket

Beige cream in the oil usually is indication of radiator coolant in the oil. Check your prestone too.
If your oil smell gas do not, i repeat do not drive the car under thoses conditions. it s like driving the car with almost no oil. for each mile you do under those conditions your internal parts are getting worn 100 times faster as normal.
I know i screwed a 350 c.i. chevy motor like that.
Have that car tow to the freaking dealer.

Well took it into the dealer, Had one of thier engine techs look at it, he agreed with me that the creamy white foam on the filler cap wasnt right, but he said it wasnt that bad.. but he said he couldnt smell the fuel, I smell it clear as day, when I smell my filler tube it smells like I am smelling a gascan. Lets see, its brand new, low on coolant, white foam in the oil(hasnt made its way down to dipstick yet.) Gas smell from the oil filler, they agreed to do a compression check/leakdown test and check the heads under warrenty on Friday. Im thinkin its time for another opinion
