vibration in motor,after shift balancer??

I have the exact same problem and I cannot figure out what it is either. Mine is in the same rpm range and does it in neutral and with the clutch in or out it does not matter. Mine can also be felt through the steering wheel. Anybody got any ideas?

Just rub your hand along the front and back of the balancer and feel for rubber sticking out. Mine had rotated about 90* when I changed it.

Yep, the balancer is two rings held together with an elastomer. The biggest tells are the timing reading being off, like 1TMF said, rubber coming out (TGGT) and wobbling. WHen the elastomer takes a dump, it lets the outer ring shift (the inner ring is keyed to the crank). They often look like someone hit the front of the balancer with a hammer (longitudinal runout).

A good rule is that if the elastomer is cracking in places, go ahead and replace.

For the guys with the off idle vibes, does it occur while moving or stationary? It could also be a resonance issue. Have either of ya run a cylinder balance test? You might be able to get it to test while in that range and if it's an actual misfire, it can be revealed (or discounted).
