Vibration is still there!!! Please help me before I give up and sell the car!

The rolling vibration is gone, aluminum DS solved it!!!

I'm having the balance checked on the flywheel tonight and I'll report back with the findings!

Sorry this took so long...

Finally got around to starting my car for the season yesterday and I am happy to report that the vibration is completely gone.

It wasn't the motormounts or tranny mount, the flywheel and clutch as a set were out of balance. I had to take them to a shop and found out the right way to install them. I did that and now everything is fine.

Word of advice. When doing a clutch just buy a new flywheel, I believe that some of the problem came when I got the old one resurfaced. Knowing what I know now, the next time the trans comes out, I'm getting a new SFI flywheel and McLeod or Lakewood bell housing.

Just goes to show you that doing it the cheap way isn't always right. Good luck to others who were having similar issues. I just wanted to post up what worked for me!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I have a recent thread going about the same type of vibration issue and someone posted about your problem so I went searching.

Was the clutch and flywheel balanced but imbalanced when bolted together. How did you correctly install them to get it right.

maybe your harmonic balancer has went bad.

Forgot to mention.

Here a list of what has been done to rule out various vibrations

Romac balancer
Centerforce Clutch with tob and pilot bearing
I indexed the bellhousing and corrected it because it was .030 off.
New driveshaft

Vibrates only above 3500rpm. In gear or not. Rolling or not. The only thing left is to check the balance on the clutch and flywheel so thats why I posted in this thread because fastgt94 has had some experience with getting a flywheel balanced.

Numbles...it might be pilot bearing related (not as likely) or something could have got out of whack when you installed that balancer...double check the condtion...also your fan if you still have a stock one...

Before the tranny for a standing still vibration go over the basic tune up on the engine. I'd check or swap out the plug wires, plugs, change the timing, rotate the MAF sensor, test the resistance sweep on the TPS sensor as the throttle plate is opened etc just to see if it changes the vibration. I feel you will find your vibration there instead of the tranny. You can also go over the valve lash etc.

Sorry this took so long, I haven't been on in a long time. The flywheel balance when apart was fine but when bolted up, the assembly (flywheel and pressure plate) would only be in proper balance when bolted up one way. This was due to slop in the peg holes on the pressure plate. Now that its bolted up the right way all is well.

If this vibration didn't start right after the clutch install, I'd suspect something else first.

Something tells me you most likely solved the problem since its been a while though.

Yeah. I finally fixed that vibration. Turns out my PP needed to be rotated clockwise to the next peg holes and all was fine.

Also. I had a direct drive fan off of the water pump that was out of balance. It had no clutch just a direct bolt up. Took the belt off one day to see if there was any more vibration and all was gone. So ive since gone electric.
