Vibration while driving??

I just had my new wheels put on and I used the tires from my old rims. Anyways when I hit about right at 50mph I get this bad vibration in my steering wheel. This happened on my old rims too when they were mounted. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Do you think it is a bad tire or something with the suspensioin? I think I remember the vibration eventually going away when the old wheels were doing it. Thanks in advance.

Did you get an alignment done when you put the new wheels on? If the car was out of alignment to start with the new wheels won't help.

Another possiblity is that the tires are cupped from an improper alignment.

No, I never got an alignment since my car was lowered and I don't have my camber kit installed yet.

Could be the belts are shot in the old tires. Could be cupped too.

Looks like a bad tire !

I don't think the front wheels and tires are not balanced right cause they were on the old rims and they were doing it so my guess will be a bad tire...

If they were mounted on the old rim with a bad balanced set up they will have worn bad and by switching them even if they are balanced right the tire itself has a spot(s) on it so there is nothing to do then swapping the front wheels to the rear and give it a try , if the vibration is gone on the steering but now you can feel it on the seat itself it will be comming from the rear .

Time for new tires !

You could try rotating the tires from front to back one at a time to try to determine which tire is bad.

Were the tire/wheel combos balanced when they were mounted? Oh, wait, you said you had this problem before. Sounds like your tires have taken a crap. I'd also recommend getting it aligned since you've dropped it.

My car does the same thing (it has an eibach pro kit). I recently put 4 new tires on it and it's still doing it.... I don't know what it could be but it's kind of annoying.

In your case it can be a bent rim(s) , do the same thing , rotate the wheels and see if the vibration comes from a different place is yes and you're sure that the wheels are well balanced , it can be a bent rim ( s ) springs will not do that .

Also check your wheel weights, I had one come off on mine and it shook like hell when I'd hit 60mph. If the vibration stops when you let off the gas pedal, it could be a U-joint.

I'll check out the rims. I could be on the freeway, let it off the gas and coast in neutral and the vibration is still there, so i guess I can eliminate the U-Joints.

I don't want to get new tires because they are only like 6 months old. You think I could take it somewhere and have them figure out which one is messed up?
