I have a vibration. Its all engine. The whole car shakes at idle. I thought it was a plug or plug wire, replaced both plus new cap and rotor, no help. If i rev the engine up it seems like the car wants to move with the clutch depressed. Not sure if it is part of it. Car has 252,000 miles on it. Never had a problem like this. Any ideas? Doesn't matter if car is moving or not.

Balancer maybe.

See if the seal is 'seperating' around it.

If it sounds like something is about to pop, maybe you shouldn't drive it just shut it off and check balancer. Thats what mine did. scared the crap out of me when it did that.

+3+4+5 for the balancer. Also check vaccum it should be around 20hg vac steady if it moves up and down there is a leak, My balancer was going , at idle it vibrated like crazy but hold the rpm at 1,000 no vibration.

Mine was the exact opposite. Idled fine, but at 1,000 rpm it vibrated. Weird...

It all depends where the rubber seperates.

might be a balancer and/or universal joint and trans/motor mount. i had the same problem. changed all of them but still have little vibe. might be trans related. throw out bearing flywheel... check all of them and replace if needed. since you have high miles it is good idea to freshen up everything.

It happened all the sudden, I drove it to work, after work, started it up and it had vibration. Drove it home(40 miles) next morning it seems worse. I parked it. It was a bad day. I ran over a rubber cargo strap that stuck in my rear tire. One hook in the tire, the other dented my door, rear quarter panel. almost a hole!
