vic jr or holley street dominator intake?

Well, I am at yet another crossroads. Finally have cash for an intake.

The engine:
TFS 185cc heads (303/291 @.600)
Xe282hr cam shaft
331 stroker
1.6 RR

The trans:
C4 trans
3000-3500 stall


370 gears in rear

Car weighs about 2800 with me in it


Now....I need an intake. A buddy of mine has a SINGLE plane Holley street dominator thats suppose to be good to 7000 rpms that I can get for about $75. OR I can find an edelbrock vic jr intake for about $150. The car is a cruiser and might see the strip once in a while.

Pros, Cons, opinions on which intake I should use would be appreciated.

The Holley will be more street and torque friendly.
The Holley is a mild single plane, while the Victor is on the wild side.
The only problem with the Holley IMO is that it is butt ugly.
Lots of useless bolt bosses and pipe plugs.
I don't think Holley has ever made a visually appealing intake.
Some folks don't mind, but I am very picky about the appearance of the top of my engines.
If you run across a Torker 289, they are both nice looking and mild. IMO a better street choice than even the Holley you are looking at (smaller plenum).

I was hoping you would post up in here. You think I should go with the holley rather than the more radical Vicky JR? I know exactly what you mean when you refer to boly holes, passages, etc on that holley intake. i was thinking of grinding some of them smooth and welding some other up. Its REALLY busy. I want an intake that is going to compliment my engine. I had my mind set on a vic jr, but this holley deal proposed itself and I am still kind of torn. Appearance aside, which is the superior intake for my combo?

Superior overall, IMO, VJ.
Superior for your uses, IMO, Holley.
The Holley will be more user friendly to someone who drives more than races.
