Hopefully, someone can answer a simple question for me. I recently purchased a 67 Fastback from the original owner. (Unrestored of course) It's never had any frontal crashes in it's history. The problem is, The Vin# on the title 7F02SXXXXXX Matches the the Door tag. It also had the original 390/ C6. The apron on both sides, Reads 7F02AXXXXXX. I got a Marti report on the "S" code # and all info goes along with what the original owner tells me & The actual car. Build consecutive # is the same on both title and aprons. So, Basically, The whole Vin# is the same other then the Engine Code. The aprons have "A". The Title, door tag, Info, Car itself, Is "S" code. Any facts on this would help.

I've heard of this several times in the past. Usual reasons are last second engine changes, strikes and just plain screwups. Sounds like you have a legit car with a cool story.

Before I read the whole post I was thinking that somebody changed the front end. When you said that the vin was the same except for the engine code and the Marti report confirms that it is an S code I knew that it was a factory screw up.
