Vinyl Stripe install

On a whim while at the dealership today I inquired about a vinyl Stripe Kit ...

I was shocked when the custom installers came back with an $850.00 quote.

. . . . are they nuts?! or is that the real rate for a bumper to bumper stripe kit?

The stripe kits from Ford are garbage. The stripes are too thin and they do not cover from bumper to bumper (to the ground). You should look around for a private company that goes to paint shops and does graphics for them when cars are being repainted. I know a guy that does that. He put a complete stripe kit on with me which takes a little time to make it look right. I soon after removed them and had the stripes painted and cleared because it started to bubble on me and I wanted a classier look anyway. If you can afford to go that route, I would.

Stay away from dealers

I have a 2006 Yellow GT with 11in stripes from head to toe ,a stripe guy not a dealer cost me $450.00 dollars there is a mark up of $200.00 some dollars.

it does cost a lot to have it done because it is a lot of work. i did it myself (not precut - bad idea) and it took about 10 hours over two days to get it perfect. it is possible to do it yourself but it is a lot of work
