Is there any shareware out there that will let me build my engine and mod it with a decent bit of accuracy? I've heard of some that will let you change TB sizes, etc. and post results of how it affects performance. If no shareware is available what is a good program that is out there?

well, there is desktop dyno 2000. not sure what all is included with it, like if a baseline 4.6L SOHC is in there. but that is the only program i know of that you can build an engine on and have it show you results.

Yeah I've been looking into it. That DTD2000 is going for about $40 average and the new 2003 is about $130 average. I've got the demo downloaded and am messing around with it now. There's also "Virtual engine 2000" but it doesn't look as detailed.

there is a link around here to a free version of dtd2000. I have screwing aroudn with it. works pretty good. you just have to make files for you stock config. .cam files and .flw file for the heads then it is pretty acurate.

do you think it will work OK for a 2003? (being that it is a 2000 release?)
