I found a Volvo 760 at a local junk yard. Is the only thing to use from a Volvo the intercooler. The turbo won't work right?
The guy said he wanted $150 for the turbo and intercooler, but if I only need the cooler maybe I can talk him down.
The turbo could be addapted to work, but it won't be a bolt on affiar by any means... plus it is smaller which isn't what you need.
Get the intercooler though. they fit nicely with a ranger radiator. You may also want to find out if this thing has a bypass valve. Those are ussully good to get.
I would get the Intercooler, and maybe the radiator too, somepeople on turboford have used them with success, Dont pay too much though, i got my volvo IC for $25 off of Ebay and its in perfect condition.
you can just drill holes in the upper core support for those brackets and make lower brackets from stuff from home depot (like shelf supports, etc). cut the hoses to fit and be done.
ranger radiators work but they've got goofy attachment points. I've got an explorer radiator I'm using for my svo and I just finished fabbing up some retaining brackets today for it and it wasnt fun.
Grab the radiator, brackets and IC hoses off of it. I'm using a Volvo rad in mine. I was gonna use the Volvo IC but decided to drop the coin on an NPR. I'll sell you the Volvo IC in the photo - $30 + shipping. It's in perfect condition!
I got two dem Intercoolers ;-)
not sure if I am going to use them though.
depends if they will fit in the sierra. I am told that the caps will blow off it if I run 30psi, but many on here have said that they work fine on that pressure. . . .
