Vortech And No Smog Delete

I bought the UPR smog delete and it didn't retain my factory belt size, so I went out and got a belt that I could get on, but it has now stretched so that two areas of the belt contact each other. I am assuming that because I am running a larger water pump pulley (per the Vortech kit) that this is why.

My question is, with this larger pulley, has anyone just deleted the smog and ran the short belt? I am considering this, but I can imagine that people that don't have the larger water pump pulley are sometimes having the tensioner bottom out, I'm just going to end up with the belt contacting itself in the same place again.

BTW, the belt touches on the right side of the tensioner and the left side of the water pump.

Otherwise I'm going to have to get a smaller belt yet and try and fight it on and hope that when it stretches it doesn't do the same thing again.

i tried to just delete the smog pump but i couldn't. it was going to bottom out anyway i did it. i had to get a delete pulley. i don't see anyway around it because of where the alternator is moved more center.
