Im putting a vortech bypass race valve on my 90 mustang supercharged car. I mount the bypass valve to the supercharger pipe and run a vaccum line to it. Now, do I have to hook anything up the the discharge tube on the bypass valve? The opening is about 2" oval. I was told as long as the bypass valve is after the supercharger im fine, correct?

your going to need a discharge tube that has a bypass valve bung built into it. same as with the inlet tube. the bypass valve has 3 connectios the high pressure side (discharge tube side), low pressure side (inlet side) and the vaccum fitting that goes to a vaccum source.

You don't need a tube for that bypass valve.. My friend has one on his Lightning and its after his vortech XX-trim right before throttle body.. The valve just vents to atmosphere right there.. Just has the vac. line going to it.. I can't wait to put race bypass valve on my car when I get my new blower.. The sound is awsome

HO93LX302, thats exactly what I was told. The air just vents to the atmosphere. If it was before the mass air meter than it would have to be connected otherwise the car could run rich!

If it vents into the atmosphere, wouldnt that be a blow off valve?

Yeah it is a blow off valve too. Im now informed that if I dont circulate it, it will be releasing measured air into the atmosphere. Im going to plumb it. Is there a fitting I can get a couple sizes up for the powerpipe to acomodate the hose size for the bypass valve?

you can mount the mini valve directly to the discharge tube, it goes where the old bosche valve went, you just gotta drill two holes and tap them 1/4-20 but you HAVE to vent the valve back into the inlet/powerpipe, youll have BIG drivability issues. here is a few pics of my valve mounted to the DC tube

the hose i used was pretty much perfect, it was a tight fit on the valve discharge, on the powerpipe end i had to cut about 1.5" of the original bosche valve hose and leave it on the powerpipe fitting, i then fit the return hose OVER the original hose and hose clamped it and it works perfect.

it is my understanding paxton calls it a 8psi pulley but it usually makes 10psi out of the box.
