I would do that but i've never done my own tuning.

For example: my tuner and dyno sheet say my afr was 11.5:1 @ WOT

which is excellent, and it stays flat as a board

but when I take the car out and do some WOT run, my LM1 says 10.5:1? So who is off here? probably me, but I dont wanna tune on that ya know

UPDATE

made some bypass valve and powerpipe mods and the car drives 100x better. Not even the same car. Made some adjustments to the idle's in the tune as well and it's muuuuch better.

Details on the bypass valve and powerpipe mods?

Bypass valve is a mini race and really didn't have a mod done to it directly, I just decreased the amount of air flowing back into the powerpipe with a reducer of sorts inside the return hose. I could have put the bosch back on, but the pipe already had a flange for the mini race on it.

The powerpipe had to be modded just a bit. The flange for the bypass hose on the PP was more or less at a 90* with the PP. So I re-welded the flange at a 45* degree angle towards the blower and closer to the big rubber inlet elbow.


sooo....going back to the tuner a couple days after 7/4 for a retune with the new pulley and bigger meth nozzle.

and I have many paint/body mods that will be done at the same time. Pics to come. :SNSign:

hey bob....can you explain a little bit more to me how you reduced the bypass pipe? i would like to use my mini race because it looks cooler and that was my problem as well. what did you do to reduce the inside of the pipe? can you snap some pics maybe and help a fella out? i have a few ideas on how i would do it, but if yours worked i might as well start with that way. thanks! :SNSign:

I don't have any pics of the reducer inside the bypass hose, but I just basically found a piece of rubber...like a doughnut and clamped it very tight inside the return hose, which is just a piece of large heater hose. I did this part for extra measure.

I modded the PP with help from my tuner. He gave me some pics of how the bypass hose should enter the PP so that the air would be pushed more toward the blower it's self and not back down the PP and smash the maf.

He sells these powerpipes already customized and in regular form. Don't ask me why there is a gun in this pic lol, it was sent to me this way. This is a test piece they were working on, but you get the idea.

Bob, thanks for the info. Do you know if your tuner has a website where we could purchase one of these PPs?

Is that the bypass return fitting towards the top of the PP in the pic? If so, that is huge! I use the stock Bosch bypass and it uses a 5/8 heater hose, I believe.

and yea, that inlet hose is pretty big. It's much bigger than the hose for the stock bosch.
