I know it maybe a preference but just wondering what everyone is running for oil. Was thinking 10w30 synthetic. what does eveyone think.

Motor is a stock block harrdened bearings 306 with forged pistons and aluminum heads and a v1 s trim with a 3.3" pulley to sum it up quickly. All fresh!

Thanks

If you only run your car in the warmer months, as I do, I use 20W50, Royal Purple. These cars run pretty hot as is, add a supercharger and they run even hotter! I run the 20W50 at the recommendation of Joe DaSilva.

You can run pretty much whatever oil you want to run, as most are ten times better than they were ten years ago.

Cheap routes are Motorcraft 15 40 from Walmart

If you want a full syn, go with Rotella 5-40 from Walmart. There is no difference in the slipperyness of dino vs syn, but there is a difference in tractive forces required to shear each!

Additives are what change the oil's characteristics. I only put about 500 miles a year on my car so at that rate, motorcraft 15-40 works just fine.

I can also vow that motorcraft 15-40 runs smoother in my bike with a shared gear box than rotella 15-40.

As far as running hot, my car runs fine with a v-2. 180 therm, stock rad and stock fan with original fan clutch; yes I still run a fan shroud.

She will sit in long, hot traffic at 195-200 all day long and get her rolling down the highway and she'll go back down to 185-190.

My car is also AC equipped. If you are ever unsure about oil in your car you can always have it tested.
