I'm in the middle of installing a Vortech S-trim on my 5.0 and I'm having a clearance problem where the belt tensioner bolt/nut is hitting the water neck housing on the lower intake. Am I missing something? Has anyone had this problem before?

I just did this install but didn't run into that problem.

Is the lower intake and water neck housing orginal Ford parts? I had heard that some water neck housings from the aftermarket can cause cleareance problems, but haven't heard anything on a Vortech install though.

Sorry not much help.

The water neck is stock and also is the bolt and nut for the tensioner.

I was thinking the Vortech kit came with a different nut and bolt...

Is it possible to get a shorter bolt? Mine is very close, but it doesn't touch.

Just cut the end of the bolt flush with the nut, thats what I did and it worked fine.

The bolt is supposed to be shorter than the original tensioner bolt.

Thanks for your help guys. I ended up cutting the end of the bolt and it only touches the water neck housing a little bit. I think it will be fine. I bought the Vortech kit used so I'm guessing the seller didn't supply the shorter bolt.
