We started the install on Friday night.
Vortech kit out of the box:
Started with the boost gauge. We ran the wires behind the trim pieces, out through a grommet near the steering wheel shaft, and tapped into a vacuum line near the intake manifold:
SVT focus fuel pump. This was really fun, mostly because I forgot about the fuel pump and got a full tank of gas a few hours prior. Fun stuff for me when 7 gallons of gas came pouring out when I popped the access cover on the top. Other than that, it was plug & play:
Installed the 42# injectors, really no issue here:
Oil drain fitting installed. Not too bad. We started with a small punch, and worked up to a 1/2" punch. I couldn't find a 9/16" punch, so we had to massage the hole until it was big enough for the tap. JB weld on the threads and outside to keep it tight. I'm going to spray paint black to make it look not so messy:
Head unit installed on main bracket:
Bracket being installed on timing cover:
Sweet love making to installed head unit:
Installing the intake plumbing. Because the lightning mass air meter, most of the Vortech plumbing didn't line up. So we used some pieces from Home Depot, mainly 4" rubber plumbing fittings to connect between the meter and the main intake tube on the S/C:
Ceramic coated discharge tube installed. No issues here, but we did locate the IAT sensor onto the discharge tube for easier tuning and more accurate air temperature measurements for the computer:
Finished product after approx 8-9 hours:
Cleaned up:

I'm using a SCT X-CAL 2 which came pre-loaded with a couple of base tunes for the 42# injectors and Lightning mass air meter. Driving below 2500 RPM, you can't even tell there is a blower on the car. Traction through 2nd gear is ridiculous, it doesn't even hook up until 3rd. We saw between 6-7 lbs of boost on the gauge.
However, there is a couple of issues right now. The car is running pig rich, I can even smell it. Past 3rd gear, the car pulls up until about 4500 RPM, and it begins to cut out like it is bumping the rev limiter. I think it's getting too much gas, my friend following me said there was alot of black smoke coming out when it starts cutting out.
Hopefully, I'm getting it dyno tuned tomorrow & will report back.
