Vortech S trim leaking at oil feed nozzle

Just figured out i have an oil leak. It is actually the oil fill line (red hose) that is leaking at the nozzle piece. The brass oil feed nozzle piece that actually goes into the supercharger was really loose. It started to loosen up by just by hand. Can i put some sort of thread locker or something on the threads and then screw it in so it holds and doesnt loosen back up?

Call vortech, it should be under warranty and they will send you a new nozzle. You might have actually cracked the hose fitting, its really common (happened to me)...they just have to be "snug".

I just pulled the oil nozzle out since it was only hand tight. I think it came loose when i was getting my new pulley/belt installed and the shop didnt check it. It all looks perfect, should i use some threadlocker on the nozzle threads when re inserting the nozzle back into the head unit?

No, you don't want anything to possibly contaminate the oil feed to the blower. Perhaps some pipe paste, but only on the upper threads.

I had a leak in mine a while ago, so I upgraded to their stainless steel oil feed for about $60 -might be worth considering.

I had the same question about using teflon tape or paste. There's a very fine filter mesh inside the oil feed fitting as well as very narrow lines for the oil to flow, which can easily get clogged up with teflon. So its not recommended. If I remember correctly, Vortech recommends to wet the threads with oil, that's all.

They're correct, put nothing on the threads, the fitting should be just snug.
Be sure to unscrew it every 3000miles and blow it out with compressed air, you don't want that fine mesh screen to clog.

my novi 2000 is doing the same damn thing. It was only in there hand tight, i took it out, checked the copper washer and tightened it back down. We'll see in a few days if just tightening it works..

Exactly what I did...didn't even bother putting the one that came with the kit on, and just upgraded right away.
