I may buy this supercharger but wanted to see what else I need and how much it would cost. I know he would take 1300 maybe a little less. Is it worth it?

Vortech Supercharger System for 1986 -- 1993 5.0L Mustang

S-trim V1 head unit (8-10psi of boost)
Includes: supercharger head unit, upgraded tensioner assy, all pulleys and brackets, air inlet tubes, fuel management system, and lines.
Everything needed to install with the exception of belt, air filter, and new drain back fitting for oil pan.
Selling because I switched car over from supercharged fuel injected combination to carburetor and nitrous. System works excellent, buyer will not be disappointed.

$1600 OBO

I also have an aluminum radiator and black magic fan. I heard it may not be able to fit properly with those.
How much and how hard would it be to buy the belt, air filter, drain back fitting? I already have heads cam and intake and 30 injectors. I think a 155 fuel pump. Thanks for any and all replies!

You'll want larger injectors and fuel pump.

20000 miles. I have a chip for it I can get retuned. Are the fuel pump and injectors a necessity? Worth the price? Thanks

20,000 miles?

I would suggest the tried and true 42 lb injectors and 255 lph fuel pump. The 155 you have is about maxed out with the HCI combo. Last thing you want is 100% duty cycle on injectors or pump.

You could also get an FMU for your 30 lb'ers.

Ok I bought it today. Hope this thing works when it is installed. I was told that the 30# injectors with a 255lph fuel pump should be perfect. Does anyone have a link for installation instructions for this particular unit? Thsnsk again!

I would get it either on a dyno or buy a wideband and install it.

Also, get the fmu if necessary and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I'd set it to 42 lbs or so with the vacuum line disconnected.

Instructions are very straight forward. VERY. I would search the vortech website and most importantly, take your time.

Also, set your timing to 10 degrees base.

Edit: here is the instructions from vortech

I guess I do have a fmu that came with it. I also can pick up a 255 walbro fuel pump for 40 bucks from a friend. Looks like i should be good to go with those parts. I will have it tuned after again. Thsnsk! Csntfind wait to see the difference!

My mechanic is having Clarence issues with my four core radiator and black magic fan. He is trying to rig it somehow by moving the fan to the front of radiator or reversing the fan. Does anyone else have a fat radiator and fan with this charger? Think I will have to get another fan? Any suggestions will be helpful. If my mechanic can rig it somehow he will, but clearance may not be there!

With a 3 core mishimoto my vortech pulley will hit the stock fan occasionally. Theres just not enough room there for a huge radiator

I had to drop my black magic fan as well. With the 8 rib setup most of the time it simply won't fit.

I suggest going with the v6 contour fans. You can go to your local yard or order new from a parts store. Much more cfm and much thinner profile.

That sucks! I think mine is a 6 rib. I'll have to check with my mechanic to see if he can rig something. If he can I will post whatbhe did. I may look into that contour fan you mentioned as well. He may to front mount the fan but don't know. Thanks again.

Can you let me know what year the contour would range from for the radiator fan I might need. Going to call junkyards and check. Any other info I may need to find the right fan. Thanks

My mechanic has tried a Taurus and thunderbird fan with no luck. He had them alying around. How much thinner is the contour fan compared to these fans? Anyone know? He said I may have to buy a "pusher fan" for the front of the radiator. Thsnks

It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

Hint: switch the + and - wires around on the "puller fan" and it becomes a "pusher"... just watch out for frame grounding problems on the fan. if it present a problem you can take apart the motor and switch the magnets around to reverse the motor and leave wiring the same...

Done it.

Sorry I missed your requests for info. The black magic style and taurus are all about 3" and the contour is just over 1". Trust me it will fit as a pull fan. Get any year v6 contour fans. You'll thank me later. They can help you with the years at the yard.

Thanks- I will tell him to look for that. He works on it on the side, so I just want this installed and be done with it. I saw somewhere that the contour fan was 3" thick as well? must be wrong information. the contour fans i beleive have the double fan, correct?
