when i did the t-5 swap and put the vss into the t-5 i noticed it seemed like it slipped in a little too easy. it's seeping a little, there's an o-ring on there which i'm sure is the problem.

is there someplace to get a new o-ring specifically for that or is it a particular size? i have a small o ring assortment kit but i was looking to see if i could find an o-ring specifically for it but couldn't find anything......

no i didnt try the dealer. i looked through a couple catalogs and saw nothing so wondered if anyone knew.

i suppose silicone would work but i'd have to put it at the base of the sensor where it seats to the tranny. i think if i tried putting silicone on the or o ring itself half of it would get swiped off the o ring by the time it got slid up in there. i'll have to just yank it out and search for an o ring i guess with the rtv as a last resort.

nahh, it'll just smear inside the hole a little...I had to do the same with mine. It will end up coming out onto the base, but it'll also put a lite coating inside the hole. As long as you let it cure for a couple hours prior to driving it shouldn't leak. But, if you have the option-try to get the o-ring first.

do you know any "dirty" parts counter guys? they could probably swag one from a new speed sensor on the shelf...then send it back to the mfr as not having all it's pieces, lol

Here ya go brother... It's a whopping $8.00 plus shipping. You can get it here: http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=54

I think you've got the wrong part of the VSS Daggar. I'm pretty sure he's talking about the large o-ring just below the snout on the VSS.

It looks like a common size o-ring 7/8" OD, 11/16" ID and a 3/32" thickness. I think I"ll try and hunt one down. I just noticed the one on my spare VSS is dry-rotted.

well the o-ring in the top of the pic was as close is i could find in my little o-ring assortment kit so we shall see.

looks to be about the same size as the original(bottom) the bottom looks slightly bigger but as you can see it broke on one side removing it. if the new one doesn't work i'll have to use some rtv or see if the auto parts store has a slightly fatter one.......thanks for all the reply's:nice:
