I have read alot of articles on cams. And I think I've narrowed it down to the VT Stage 1 cams. I have about 1500 bucks to mod the car with, and I think I'm going with cams. If any of you have any other idea's please share them.

Good choice.

Personally I might step up to S2, but ... how about some 4.10 gears and that'll be close to $1,500 after parts and labor.

Labor to install the cams will be about $1,000 just so you know. The install will take all day and most shops charge $80/hr, and some shops charge $100+. So your install may cost $500-1000 and take like 5+ hours.

Unfortunately you have a Windsor with press on cam gears. They'll have to remove the front timing cover which will take the most time. The Romeos can just remove a few things up top and using a cam gear tool not have to remove the front of the engine and deal with timing.

S1 can keep the stock valve springs to. If you were going for S2 would need new valve springs. I understand removing and installing valve springs is complete hell, Nick did his cam install and didn't have anything good to say about that part.

the only way it should cost a grand for the install is if they take the head off & set up the valve springs on a bench. stage one with no springs usually go from 300 - 450 on average. if you're gettin quotes for more than that for the install, look elsewhere. heck bring it to chattanooga & i'll give ya a deal on labor

Yeah I've already got the 4.10's. I was actually thinking of installing myself. But I'll think more about it when I order these cams. So it's a good choice then.. Thanks
