Stock block 02 gt. If I get stage 2 vt cams, will it affect smog and what valvesprings should I get? And do I need anything else besides a tune?

Comp Beehive valve springs or Crower springs would work. I think there might be another brand.

I don't think they're C.A.R.B. legal but not sure how they affect a sniff test.

You'll definitely need a tune but w/ stage IIs I'd recommend ported heads, long tube headers and a good plenum/tb combo to make the most of them. I wish I would've had my heads ported.

Before i would get cams i would have full exhaust and a throttle body/plenum combo at the least. You won't get as much benefit if everything else is stock. Headwork is not a must with the stage IIs but obviously if they are flowing better you will make more power with the cams. You def need springs and a dyno tune. If you are closer to stock the stage Is are probably a better choice but i would still do the exhaust and tb/plenum first. Obviously get lts.

You can get the cams without the other boltons but it is a waste of time and money in my opinion because you will have to get the car tuned again on the dyno.

Can you pass a Cali smog test with your Stage 1's? I'd be surprised if you did.

I have a stock intake and TB and make the same power with Stage 2's as the guys who spent 700 dollars on worthless CAI and plenums. until you hit the 400HP mark the stock intakes flow fine

How do the Stage II cams sound at idle? Do they lope pretty good?

They are lumpy at idle without a tune, once you get a tune they aren't that lumpy but the car doesn't sound stock either. Clink on the video in my sig.

you'll need Comp Cams valve springs part # 26113-16

if you're an auto, along w/ a dyno tune, you're going to need 3.55+ gears as well as a torque coverter w/ 2400+ stall speed.
