Ok

Im trying to adjust some 1.7 rockers
and push rods
The motor has a b cam

First of all theres no freegin timing arrow on the damper.

I found tdc compression stroke on num 1 cylinder
After that intake/exhaust closed the next valve to open was the 3 exhaust
and 7 intake.
wtf?
I heard this car run like crap with the stock 5.0 ho firing order.and heard it scream at 4000rpms and sound kinda ok.
i got it w/bent up pushrods.& Im changing them.

yes,im turning the engine clockwise.

whats going on? anyone know if a b303 throws off the timing order?

No, the B doesn't throw off the firing order... are you sure your plug wires are attached to the right spot on the distributor?

Firing order for the HO motor (same as 351's) is: 13726548

Im at adjusting the rockers right now..

I got num 1 cylinder at tdc and adjusted both both valves...
BUT>>>>>>>>>the next valve to open is number 7 intake, and thats not either 5.0 firing order....ho is 3 and non ho is 5.or vice/versa

so something is wacked out somewhere right?

im turning the motor clockwise as it sits...counterclockwise if im looking at it.
that is correct right?

This is how you adjust rockers. #1 cylinder is in the front on passenger side. 2,3,4 follow suit. 5,6,7,8 are on the drivers side, front to back. At TDC compression stroke adjust:
#1 intake #1 exhaust
#4 intake #3 exhaust
#8 intake #7 exhaust.

rotate engine 360 deg (1 rev) and do:
#3 intake #2 exhaust
#7 intake #6 exhaust

rotate engine 90 deg (1/4 turn) and do these:
#2 intake #4 exhaust
#5 intake #5 exhaust
#6 intake #8 exhaust

i didnt do it like tat.
crane cam instructions were.
when intake starts to open do exhause valve..when exhaust is 3/4 closed do intake.
i did it that way...or vice verse

and afterwards each one i already adjusted seemed verry loose as i rotated to the next set.

like i could spin the pushrod still..and wiggle the rocker side to side a little.

i went back around and retightened everything to zero lash and 1/2 turn after 0 zero lash, as long as the valve was closed,i adjusted it to 0 lash plus 1/2 turn....is that ok????????

dam thing wont start ,and im wondering if its cause my adjusting
