Waiting for a 06 in mid Aug

Funny people spent top dollars on PT Cruser and the Bug lol.I am sure in a year or 2 prices will be like the old days lol..And then the dealers will markup the 2007 or 08s Mach1s with 310 hp lol...... :hail2:

Not going to get a great deal by aug though. But if you're willing to wait then yea. But that's why people are paying over. To have it when it's a reallly looker. Personally the novelty isn't going anywhere for me but up. Why don't you just order one? There are dealers who will put one on order for MSRP and that's a better deal then 300 over.

Yep i might just do that...Or at least get $500 under it.
I'm not going to say impossible. Let us know if you do. I've seen some good bardering pull off deals that shocked me before so 500 under isn't unfathonable. Let us know if you pull it off on a 05gt by fall. For me, i'd rather have one on order now for msrp than play the wait/negotiate game for 500 bucks.

Come Spring of 06 maybe a little sooner you should start to see some deals. They are supposed to triple production, but we will see. This is coming from the mouth of our General Manager so don't quote me. Just to give you an idea on how things are right now...we are having other dealers send us customers willing to pay a grand over sticker, and v6s have become hot because GTs are hard to get and they are selling over sticker or right at now.

How is Ford going to triple Mustang output? The current plant doesn't have additional capacity. I doubt that they will retool another plant. A market shift away from SUVs to other types of family vehicles is happening right now, but Mustang is not exactly a family car, so demand will always be limited. I fear that prople will do the same thing they did in the mid 70's and flock to low powered higher MPG foreign cars and away from V8 powered American cars. I also fear that high oil price will eventually make the reale value of any V8 equipped car very low. Demand for Mustang will remain but will settle down by the 2007 model. In the final analysis, Ford would rather sell 200,000 Mustangs/yr at MSRP than 400,000 with $3500 in incentives.

Why would FORD care if all of the dealer sell the Mustang GT at $500 over invoice?Ford is still making money from the daeler and at anything over invoice the dealer gets the money not ford?Ford cares about how many cars you sell a month and if a dealer sells all this cars $500-$1000 over invoice ford would be very happy and give the dealer KICKbacks on the cars that they sell.....

You're conflustering ??? In some posts you're saying under msrp and then over. I just thought you would have a hard time making a deal on a gt for 500 under as you posted.

I used to buy Mustang Gts almost every 2 or 3 years since 1995.I am sure we will see prices under sticker for the 2006s but how much? Now i am in no rush because if i trade in my mustang now or Dec the blue book would be almost the same and then i will have more money to put down on the car.And i am sure the dealers will be more then happy to sell a 2006 on Dec 31 at 9am at a little over invoice.....You know dealers have to sell so many cars by the end of the month..If you disagree with me then you must be a dealer..Johnny

If we're not getting our gt until November with our order with the dealer now, I'm wondering how many GT's are going to be sitting on the lot at the end of december.

Ford is not concerned with the price the dealer charges. They are interested in selling cars without having to give incentives! The average incentive cost for Ford was something like $3000 per car last year. Being able to sell 200000 Mustangs without those incentive cost means an extra 600 million in revenue.

Here's the problem I see with your line of thinking. You keep talking about the cars value in 4 years. When there will be a lot of them on the road. The dealer is likely not concerned with that. And if he is. You've done something for him. Like date his ugly daughter. :D Dealers know what this car sells for. And they are going to ask for that price. For at least the reasonable future. The dealer down the street from me. Charge $1k over invoice on everything. But they have yet to have a gt on their lot for sale. Every one of them has been spoken for. Before it arrives on the lot.

And as for production tripling. Tell your GM that I hear Nicole Kidman waits up late every night for my phonecall.

I did that for a while, date the not so beautiful daughter of the owner of a Ford dealer. I never got squat out of that relationship. So try it at your own risk.

Soooo shes a mutt big deal, naaaaaaa would never date a mutt not worth it.Its amazing that a local dealer in my area had a GT coming in within a few days.He wants $28,880 for a Gt, Auto, Upgraded wheels,Blue.I would like to get it if it was black with Standard trans and at this late time of the year i ratter have a 2006 with 18 inch wheels.Glad I have a great dealer in my area that does not charge thousands over invoice. He told me i will be the first one on his list for the 2006 Gts.Hope he gets what I want and really hate leaving the 2005 at that price because most dealers i have spoken on the phone with wants top dollar. One Dealer wants $36,000 for a GT telling me that they put extras on the car.J**koff salesmen
