I'd stick with the 18's. Other than all the other stuff mentioned already, less likely to get ripped off your stang by a jealous crackhead.

Also agree that big wheels look much better on the new style stang than the others.

here is the thing...
99-04- mustangs...NO bigger than 18s...
05+ mustangs, 20s look great...but they have huge wheel wells and they dont raise the car up like they would on a 99-04.
I have 18x8.5s in the front and 18x9.5s in the rear....perfect size imo.

I don't believe that 18" rims have THAT much of an effect. I have 18x9 chrome cobra R's and chrome is heavy. On bald ass tires and with a 2" drop, i ran a 13.86@101 in this beast a few weeks after i got it. Are you saying that if i simply had stock rims on the car i'd be turning ~13.4's with an x-pipe and catback?
Doesn't seem very possible to me but if it is, I wonder what i'll be running in a few weeks in ALOT cooler weather with DR's on 15" v6 wheels and with 3.73's and a short shifter.....12's LOL?

lol way to be a smart ass. If you read i said tech. Its a rule of thumb...just like every 100lbs is a tenth. I will say this much with 18's, 4.10s, lowered 2 and a 1/4 inches, and a midpipe my car went 13.97. Put drag radials on stock 17" rims and went 13.48. Put cams, plenum, t/b, with 15" welds went 13.0. Now with full bolt ons and eibach drag launch with the cams the car goes mid 12s and with the cooler weather will go 12.3's....hum go figure

oh yea with my mid 12 set up ran on 17" street tires for ****s and giggles and went 13.4@102 compared to a 12.5@108

No problem Those are awesome times, congrats. I'm hoping to go 13.5's with no other mods other than 3.73's and DR's on 15" v6 wheels. I'll let yuo know how that goes.

BTW, anyone know what size DR i can run on a 15x7 V6 wheel?
