want brighter lights

ive got some sylvania cool blue bulbs theyre ok but i want brighter im also looking for brighter fogs. i,m night blind so any help is appreciated

Is there a legit conversion to 'high intensity discharge',
for Mustangs?
(not interested in blue/purple tinted bulbs)

Lights

Try Sylvania "Silverstar" bulbs. They have matching bulbs for the fogs now too. Meijer and Autozone carry them along with a lot of other outlets.

Yea these a kit for our cars. I believe theres atleast one guy on this forum that did it. Expensive though. And is there a such thing as TRUE HIDs that ARE NOT blue? I've never seen any other color.

I had an hid kit on mine but sold it, i liked it a lot but didnt have a job at the time so i needed the money. i got it off ebay. just search for a 9007 hid kit. i paid around 400 for it, it was an 8000k kit, very blue light. get around 6000k or so if you dont want them that blue

I bought these for my car and they are extremely bright and not too expensive.

The 9007 is the headlights (you can get it in the "super" or "ultra" white) and the 37.5 Watt 893 (899, 880, 885, 890) is the fog light.

I have the 7000k kit. They start up deep purple, then warm up to pure white. White enough to make Cadillac's HIDs look yellow.

You really need to see them in person, pictures do a terrible job at trying to convey what the look like.

Mercedes headlights

I had a friend that worked at a Mercedes repair shop and they were always throwing damaged lights headlights away.

So we dissasembled a few and installed the voltage transformer, wires, control module and high beam bulbs, and they worked perfect. Slight modificications to fit and we had to run the hedlights off the high beams, kept blowing low beam fuse and then ran the fog lights direct off a rocker switch. VERY bright!!!!!!

Bulb replacement isn't cheap, about 80 bucks new, but in the two years I ran that setup I never had to replace one.

well there a couple ways to do it and they all cost a different amount of money.

If you want to spend 400+ dollars go with the HID kit somewhere in the 6000K range.

Or you could go to the junk yard and try to find the bulbs, ballasts and wiring from a Mark VIII. it would need to be fabbed some. (don't know the cost of parts from the j/y but if you get the parts from Ford you are looking at over $1000)

Or if you only want to spend around $100 get yourself Sylvania Silver Star Bulbs for both the headlights and foglights.

Sylvania Cool Blues Suck they put out less light than the cheapo's

Every once in a while I'll blow my driver's side headlight fuse. I was wondering if it was because of a bad ground connection, or my underdrive pulleys....

Hooking it up for the high beams should work better then?

i switched to "Cuzo" 80/100W blue bulbs shortly after getting the car as i hated how dim the headlights were. the 80W/100W bulbs are much brighter. (i think they are 80/100W, and i think stock is 60W/80W for low beam/high beam) Anyway, no problems so far... I only bough the cuzo's b/c my buddy tried them and they looked pretty nice. i have heard good things about the sylvania silverstars too. if these ever blow off i'll probably get them..

get crystal clear fog light housings too. They seem to have a more translucent lens than stock.

I have Silverstars in my headlights and my fog lights.
I also have the clear fog lights.
Hugh difference!
