Start throwing some ideas out as to what yall may want done, im starting a composite business

Im really stoked, ive got a couple of decent investors, alot of ideas and some products allready starting to get worked on (molds and such)

Ive allready got a complete carbon fairing kit for my F4i and its pure sex.

Im not limited to bike parts however, audio system enclosures, dashes, interior, body panels, hoods, gauge clusters, hidden areas for nitrous bottles WHATEVER u want, Carbon Customs can do

Everything will be vacuum bagged and made to your specs

I havent even been online much latley, all i do is work all day, then get off work and go to work my second job, lol

hoods are pretty much the larger of what we all look for. there aren't many good fitting fiberglass hoods and almost NO CF hood options for us classic stang owners.

Seriously, if you're spending 400 on a FG hood, that thing better fit.

other options are gauge clusters, shift knobs, interior panel accents....

Get your hands on guage cluster molds for all the early years - similar to the JME clusters- and sell them without guages for a couple hundred bucks.

My bet is that you would see a LOT of interest in that, since the JME clusters are ridiculously expensive and require you to choose guages only in their lineup. Selling just the cluster would give the buyer more flexibility in guage choices and would allow you, as the seller, to keep the price low.

Nobody makes CF hoods for Stangs?!?
I find that hard to believe.
I have a CF hood for my Maverick.
Mavericks never get good parts before the Stangs get them!

I would love a CF shaker hood for my 70 and replace all the Mach1 wood grain decals in my interior! Trunk lid isn't that big of a deal to me personally but the best of luck on your venture. Also the 5.0 market would probably jump on some reasonably priced CF cowl hoods... seeing that cervinis charges so much for just a fiberglass hood.

Wow thanks guy's.

I didnt realise the CF hoods were in such demand.

Ill start finding some good stock hoods. Making body parts for older cars is allways a challenge, the fit is hard to get right when half the cars bodys are tweaked a little bit ya know? I will definitly also be looking into the CF shaker, ive god a friend with a 70 mach i allready know i could use

CF exterior gauge pod (to mount inside cowl scoops)
CF deck id 65-66
CF rear tail light panel 65-66
CF glove box door 65-66
CF dash/door panels?

Not that im bias toward 65-66 or anything...

are you talking full carbon product or fiberglassed backed stuff? I dont think people are prepared for the prices of full carbon stuff.

I dont know if you know about vaccuum infusion but it is the way to go over traditional bagging

My Maverick Grabber hood was $600 (plus 150 shipping)
Full CF...

The CF is quite a bit higher than FG body parts, HOWEVER, there is a big cost
savings when you figure the CF can go right on with no trimming/fitting.
If you pay $400 for a FG hood, you will still need to put at least $200 into getting the thing to fit, then it won't look right until you prep and paint it for even more money.
You can paint the CF if you like, or leave it alone and look good.
Can't say that for FG, so you end up spending more by the time you have it on the car.

I'd LOVE

A Speedster cover for my 68 convertible like the newer Saleens. They used to make them in fiberglass, but stopped.

That would be just awesome!

Something I notice on the rice cars with CF hoods is that they start to turn yellow and delaminate after some sun and weather exposure. I don't know if is dependent on the production quality or not, but I suspect that most at least need to have a couple coats of UV resistant clear to seal them.

I had some more ideas for parts:
front fenders
headlight buckets
bumpers
front/rear aprons

I can't afford this stuff; they're just ideas.

Glad you asked man. I can make whatever YOU want obviously a glass/carbon mix will be cheaper and i have NO problem doing that for the parts most of us will be painting

I can also do a carbon/kevlar/glass mix too.

All of my parts are vacuum bagged and infused, if you want a pre preg material it will be oven cured

I build boats for the navy, quality and construction are not things i lack on.

As far as the UV fading goes. This is due to either 1 of two things. Poor making or poor keep up. Some people use as little and as cheap clear clear coat as possible and thats BS but you cant just leave it alone either ya know?
