Lol. I thought about the possibility of it rolling away as well. I have to be careful. It might end up in my neighbors driveway across the street. The wheels chucks should keep that from happening hopefully!

That should do it - I have 'locks' on all of my casters - I think I'm gonna take the doors off - maybe make it lighter - it's just a pain in the arse - it's a chinese 'fire drill' to get my DD in there or the GT to wash/wax it - I have to 'move' the two cars out of the drive way - then the 'twirling' project car coming out (hopefully no cars are coming down street) - then I can't 'leave' the Gt on the street - so I have to pull that up or in - then call neighbors to help 'push' the project car back in up a slope ....drives me - .......it's an hour worth of work just to get the cars situated - but ...I'm crying w/two loafs of bread under my arms of starvation - I know most guys don't even have a garage - so I'll shut the F up.....

Haha. I hear ya. I have similar 2-car garage space issues. I should have done the dolly from the very beginning instead of jackstands. It's great to be able to push the car up against the wall. Leaves a lot more room for the DD.

I think when the car is done, I'm going to buy a set of those jacking wheel dollies. The kind you pump with your foot to lift each wheel individually. I have a set of cheapo harbor freight ones now, but it takes an act of God to move the car on those things. I need a set with good ball bearing wheels.

Cleaned up the IRS half shafts tonight.

Also started getting the engine bay ready for filler. Doing the last of grinding and a bit more welding. Hopefully will be laying some filler next week.

Hey i talked to ron francis today you might wanna look T your headlight harness. Unless you told them about the stock switch they wired that harness ip to work with their switch im trying to utilitze the stock switch up near the gauge cluster so they are trying to help me in figuing out a way to re wire it for the stock switch

Thanks for the info. I told them that I didn't want the switch that came with the kit, but there was not much discussion regarding the stock switch. I'll have to see what my kit looks like though. I am using the stock switch, but not in the stock configuration. I'll be using relays for the headlights and foglights, so it will all be wired up a bit different than stock..

Are these OEM? Will they hold up that monstrosity you're putting under the hood?

Yes. Stock 03 Cobra shafts. They 'should' hold up fine. Most of the strength issues associated with the IRS are taken care of by replacing all the rubber mounts with delrin bushings. This will eliminate wheel hop, which is what kills the half shafts. I spoke to Bruce at FTBR about it, and he feels that I will not have any issues at all. There are guys with 700hp Cobras launching on drag radials and aren't breaking shafts thanks to better housing mounts and the delrin bushings. Most of my power will probably never make it to the ground anyway on the street.

I was looking back a few pages in this thread for reference to the above, but didn't see anything. I assume that you are gonna rewire w/ a Francis harness? ( Naturally,...I would be interested in this since you know about my................"wiring issues") What is the issue w/ using the stock switches to control the related accessories?

I gotta tell you, it's incumbent on me to say that It's gonna take more than cleaning up your half shafts to get one though. (although, those are exceptionally clean half shafts.)

Both me and him are using the ron francis kit but for the connectors you i guess re use everything except the turn signal switch ignition and one other connector its two from the multifunction switch and of course the ignition switch im tking to him now about the headlight switch because the connector they supply is for the switch they supply but a guy is working on getting me more info on how to repin my connector to work with their system should be fun projects and ill be keeping pics in my build for anyone who wants to do this kit

I didn't mention much about the wiring yet. Was going to cross that bridge when I got there (early next year sometime). I will be using all stock switches and controls. There will just be new wires in all the plugs instead of 20+ year old crap. The only stock wiring will be the window and door controls. That was pretty much the only harness on my car that wasn't hacked up to all hell. All the EFI wiring will be brand new as well.

Be patient for those 'monumental achievements' Mike. Those take time, as you know. I don't expect anyone to get a rise out of clean half shafts...as pretty as they are. The smoothing of the engine bay will be the next milestone to get done within the next 2 weeks. I need to get a move on things if I want to get this car to paint by the middle of October.

Nothing to update on right now. I was at a wedding all weekend, and then had a lot going on this week. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to finish up welding together the false floor in the hatch area, and then early next week I'll start smoothing the engine bay. I'm going to hit it hard next week, so I should be able to get a lot done.

I'm still debating if I should use the last bottle of the Raptor liner I have on the interior floor of the car. I may just spray the firewall and rear hatch area with it. One bottle will definitely cover at least all that with a nice coat. I figured it can't hurt to use it up, otherwise it's going to sit in a cabinet for the next 5 years until I eventually throw it out.
