100 seconds is more than enough time for me to run upstairs and grab my Mossberg. If Noobz can get the rear to the end of my driveway and dodge 6 rounds of buckshot, he can keep it. If not, I'll have to call Ding Pao to come clean up the mess.
That is quite the gamble for noobz but I think he may be agile enough to matrix around the buckshot
Got some more welding and fab work done today. I realized I forgot to fabricate a bracket to mount the fuel pump and filters to the back of the car. I'm trying to avoid doing a lot of cutting and welding after I get the car back from paint, so I wanted to get this done now.
Here's the bracket. Thanks to Rick 91GT for the mounting idea.
Pump mounted
I'm not drilling the holes in the body until I know exactly where I want to mount the bracket, but this kind of shows how it will all be mounted.
Fuelab says that the pump should be mounted as low as possible, but it's not the end of the world if it's a few inches above the sump outlet on the tank. I 'd prefer to have the pump hidden behind my Cobra bumper, but I'll live if it shows a little. I'm trying to keep the car somewhat sleeperish, and a huge 1300hp pump sicking out the back doesn't scream sleeper. Then again, neither does the sumped tank or exposed braided fuel line out the back.
Gonna send this bracket and my bellhousing off to the powder coater next week to have them coated in gloss black.

What is that?.......1/4 plate? A little overkill on the mounting maybe?

Close, 3/16". What part of this build isn't overkill? If I ever want to tow a small trailer, all I will need to do it strap the hitch to the fuel pump and I'm good to go.
So, the car won't be going to paint for another 2 weeks. Yea, yea...what is it this time, right?? Well, my painter called my yesterday apologizing like crazy because he knew I was going to be all ready to send him the car. They apparently overbooked the shop because a few of their current restorations are taking longer than expected due to some last minute changes by their owners. They have a 67 Mustang in the shop that will be getting painted next week and then re-assembled the week after. Once that one is done, it's my turn. They are also finishing up a '53 Caddy and a '67 Stingray.
I had pretty solid plans this weekend to overhaul the garage, and those plans are not going to change. I'm just going to have to work around the car, that's all. The two week delay may work out for the better. I ordered a special piece of garage equipment that won't be coming until the end of May. I would need to wait until then to start putting the car back together anyway, so it's all good. I've already kissed the idea of having the car done by the fall goodbye, so another 2 weeks isn't going to matter.
In the meantime, I'll have plenty of garage pictures coming soon. I have to make sure I get the space up to madmike1157 's standards!
