Want to keep V-Belts

OK,
I have been researching pulley set-ups and am just curious what you guys
are using before I shell out some cash. I want to keep v-belts.
I ditched p/s so I need to run 1 groove for water pump and alternator.

I was wondering if anyone is using the Ford Racing M-8509-D setup, or
a similar setup from March's, I think set"1611 or 1647 for high waterflow.
v-belts. If so, did these line up perfect? or did you have to use spacers?

Andy, I deleted my PS also and used the same pulley setup, running 1 belt direct from the crank to the WP and the other to the ALT. I can send you the exact size you need, and pics if you want. It works slick no need to buy anything at all. But If you need an excuse for a new cool aluminum pulley set now is the time...

The belt is a Dayco 17350 and of course there is no adjustment. I measured the pulleys and then went through 10 sizes to find the right fit. Put the belt on the crank pulley and then begin feeding it onto the WP pulley. Get it on as far as you can and then crank the engine over (or turn over) this will feed the belt the rest of the way. (like putting the chain back on your bike when you were a kid ) yea, I know it's a bit redneck but it works well and is a cost effective solution. Here is the promised picture of the finished system, I used high reolution to get detail hence the BIG pic.

I ditched the PS pump, and ran a one belt V belt setup. It was easy to set up, all stock parts can be used exept you have to make one little bracket. I've attached a little pic of the alt bracket I made, I think I was able to use one of the stock alum spacers with no mods at all.

So parthos, it looks like instead of looking for a differnt WP pulley you instead made a bracket that repositioned your alt. to work with the existing pulleys. Is this assumption correct? I myself found a pulley that worked, not sure what it came from. Do you have any drawings of your bracket?

The bracket is just made out of straight pieces of I think 3/4 by 1/8th inch steel. I made the top piece first, then the bottom and tacked the two together while on the car so I was sure everything lined up correctly. Then take it out weld it and it's as good as gold. I think you can get the distance for the top two holes off the old bracket and go from their. So yes I'm using the stock pulleys, and as you can tell from the pics the pulleys line up perfectly.
