Ricers put 15" ugly *** rims on their cars. Pimps put 20's. You guys seriously dont think that bullitt looks sic? Keep the 17's with drag radials for racing and get the 20's for when you are just going to be crusing.

20's are a bad idea imo... I think they would look terrible... like everyone else said, 18's at most... (I've even been considering dropping down to 16's, tho I doubt I will, prob just stick with the 17's...)

That may be, that car blown and is pushing 475 rwhp...

Putting 20's on a mostly stock mustang is going to make it feel like you lost about 20-30 horsepower.

Thanks for the opinions you guys... you definitely have them! LOL!

I have not made up my mind, just wanted to see a few different cars with them to make up my mind. After looking at the pics I agree the 20s are a bit too much though that Bullit is sweet. I think the 19s are more the direction I want to go. That with the sportlines.

I had seen a mustang with either 19s or 20s and a serious drop the other day and thought it looked really good. We were not able to tell what size they were though as the car was leaving the parking lot.

I plan to just have the larger wheel for cruising and shows and the 17s for any playing at the drag strip. Right now most of the driving the car sees is bumper to bumper on the HWY! LOL!

your best bet is 18's, and if you are going to the track the bigger the rim is the more its going to hurt your times

As long as you maintain the original diameter, you won't have problems. 245/45 17's run about 25.7-25.9''. 255/30 20 is pretty close, and is made by a lot of tire makers. You will have to run a 25 or 30 series tire. That works on an Enzo, but I wouldn't drive a Stang with tires like that everyday. Also, the cost. 20'' tires are still in the $250+ per tire range. Pirelli makes just about any size you could ever want. Just be willing to pay the price. You could buy a lot of other things for the few grand you're gonna spend on a complete set of dubs.

you should buy my 22s i had for my truck. i trader her in and now they need a home. theyd look SIIICKKKKKK haha. those 4 rims and tires probably equal the weight of the car.

Like droid eluded to, as long as you keep the overall tire diameter fairly close to the original tire, you will not change the effective gearing of the car. And I have seen plenty of 20" wheels that weight no more or less than some of the common 17/18's that we all use.

With that said, their is absolutely no direct relationship between wheel diameter and the acceleration potential of the vehicle. It simply boils down to the rotating mass of the wheel and the overall tire diameter.

If you choose a big heavy billet 20" wheel, then yes of course you will slow down a little, and I mean a little. We are talking a tenth, maybe 0.15. It WILL NOT feel like you lost 20-30 HP. It will come down to looks. If you are hellbent on having a big wheel, do some homework and just compare all the wheel weights.

Just Do It...I put 20" Zenetti Fives on my black 02 GT, rims are black with the chrome lip, dropped it with H&R Sports and new Bilstein shocks and struts. Obviously there is a dip in acceleration but are you honestly trying to drag it? I'm running 255/35's for tires and its fine. The only thing with dropping it is you start to feel the undulations in the highway which can get annoying, but as far as around town - just avoid the holes and you'll be fine. I have yet to have someone see it in person and not compliment me on it. Most people are surprised when they find out they are 20s and it looks as good as it does. You have to drop it though or else it will look way off.

You should do whatever you want to do. Including putting 20" wheels on your Mustang. There are alot of closed minded people that post here, so I wouldnt let them have too much of an influence over YOUR vehicle.

A 20" inch wheel can look just fine on a 99-04 body style, but you have to purchase the right wheel. Most pictures of 20" that are posted on the internet are people who have gone out to the local flea market, and bought a set of the blingiest wheels they can find, without worrying about fitment/backspacing issues. And bolt them on. Thats why they look "ghetto."

I personally find the humor in the people that are opinionated on said subject, yet are driving relatively stock 99-04 Mustang GTs, with 18s and "think" their car is fast. Thats what I consider "rice."
