Warlock Mufflers?

My Magnaflows are about to rust through on the front. Had the muffler shop, throw a quick bead on them to get me by..... so I'm on the hunt for something else. I LOVE the sound of them at WOT. Just looking for a bit meaner sound at lower rpms (I think I want that, I may not like listening to it on long trips).

Really considering the Warlock mufflers so I can uncap them when I want loud, and seal them back up when I don't.

Anyone have experience with them? What do you think? How do they sound capped and uncapped? I know losing backpressure is bad with a stock motor, but it shouldn't be completely stock by next spring AND I have a pretty descent converter, so it shouldn't hurt THAT bad should it?

I used to have the warlocks, capped they arent very loud at all, just a little louder than the stock mufflers, but they do have a good tone. When they are uncapped they are straight up loud, very loud. I have dynomax bullets with turndowns now and the uncapped warlocks were just a tad louder than these bullets. The warlocks uncapped are loud, but I like the tone of my dynomax's alot more.

I second his reply. I use to have the warlocks on my car and un capped they were ungodly loud. I use to love going down the interstate and when I would get under the bridges I would rev my car up and who ever was next to me would almost wreck. I would get some scared faces with these mufflers uncapped. But when they are capped they sound like a stock muffler. I got tired of them and went the same route as stated above. I got the dynomax bullets and love the sound they make. Very mean sounding but not annoying.
Good luck

Here's part of my delima.... I have a 7 year old daughter who rides in the back seat, plus my car is my daily driver. So I can't really have a LOUD exhaust system all the time. I thought maybe this would help me out a bit on when she's not in the car and I want to sound big and tough. LOL You know parades, cruises, etc.

My question still remains about the torque issues of not having a muffler. Will I sound all big and tough, then when it comes time to race someone, I have to stop and put the plugs in and make my car sound stock so it'll actually run good too? That sounds kinda lame. :D

Why dont you go with a turbo style muffler with turndowns before the axle?? That is if u dont mind getting rid of the tailpipes. When alot of mufflers are dumped like this they are pretty quiet. They have a deep sound, but its not super loud until you get into the higher rpms. Maybe this would work? As with the torque question, i think if it loses any power its not gonna be enough to notice.

I've thought about turndowns, but there are a few reasons I'm thinking of not going that way.

One, my daughter sits in the back seat. Dumps would be right under her seat all the time. My exhaust smells in the garage WITH tails.... so I know it would be worse. And it's hard enough to hear her quiet voice when she's trying to talk to me on the road.

And two we have a few track events in the area that require exhaust to exit behind the rear axle to qualify as a street car. :/

Plus, yeah, I hate my MAC tailpipes, but I also hate to see money thrown away.

I'll be putting Warlocks on my car any day now.. This is going from a Sidepipes, no mufflers exhaust (which I LOVED, but I want to have the ability to go quietly around the neighborhood as well)

I'll be dyno-ing the car with flowmasters VS Warlocks VS warlocks capped, as well, so keep your eyes peeled for dyno comparison in the next few weeks.

:hail2: Awesome! I'll be very interested to see the results! :nice:
