Warning chime

I've been having a problem with my warning chime in the car going off when it shouldn't. With the car running and the headlights on...of you open the door the chime goes off like you left the lights on and parked the car. Sometimes it will also go off when the car is parked, headlights are off, and the key is out of the ignition. Anyone ever run in to this?

I had that problem in my 95 GT. I have to make sure the ignition on the steering column is just right or it will chime.

Is there more than one way to put it in? What do you need to do to make sure it's just right?

I didn't take it apart or anything like that. It's just that when I turn the ignition off I have to make sure I turn it just the right way so it doesn't chime.

Ok, so if that's the same as mine I guess my ignition switch is worn out.

Yea that sounds like it. Hopefully someone else can chime in with some more specific info...

I had to take it out when I changed the dash and I don't remember it doing this before that. I'll try just removing the ignition switch and reinstalling it and see if that helps.
